Universal Does Some Movie Shuffling, Bumps Wolf Man to 2025

Universal’s been teasing a new modern take on The Wolf Man from Invisible Man and Upgrade’s Leigh Whannell for a while now. Though it seemed like we’d get to see it in theaters in a couple of months, it’s now been pushed back.

On late Friday, the Hollywood Reporter revealed the film has now moved from its original October 25 date to January 17, 2025. Filming just started last week in New Zealand, and it was only a few days ago the film’s core plot was revealed: Christopher Abbott (taking over for Ryan Gosling) and Julia Garner are the parents to a family who find themselves “terrorized by a lethal predator.” Abbott plays Larry Talbot, who eventually becomes the titular Wolf Man, and has been previously played by Lon Chaney Jr. and Benicio del Toro in the respective 1940s version and 2010 remake.

That’s not the only horror movie getting moved around. Universal opted to yank The Woman in the Yard from its January 10, 2025 date and off its schedule entirely. A reason for its removal wasn’t given, and it’s equally unclear what the film is actually about; all that’s known is that it’s directed by Black Adam’s Jaume Collet-Serra with Danielle Deadwyler (Till) in the lead role.

Even with these two delays, Universal’s still got some horror up its sleeve for 2024. Along with Abigail on April 19, it’s releasing the James McAvoy-led remake of Speak No Evil on September 13, followed by Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu (starring Bill SkÃ¥rsgard and Lily Rose-Depp) on Christmas Day.

Loki: Chris Hemsworth Records New Lines for Throg Role

Chris Hemsworth is Thor Image: Marvel Believe it or not, Chris Hemsworth appears in the latest episode of Loki. Well, his voice does. The Kate Herron directed-episode titled Journey into Mystery , takes place in a location at the end of time created by the Time Variance Authority called The Void. It’s in this void that viewers see Throg (a version of Thor in Frog form from Earth-97161) trapped inside a bottle deep underground as he tries to break out to reach his Mjolnir. When Herron was on the ForAllNerds podcast last Friday, she revealed that Chris Hemsworth is the voice of Throg. You don’t hear the Frog say any dialogue, but the scream it lets out is by Hemsworth . Herron had him record new lines and sounds strictly for the show, and she kept it a well-hidden secret. “Throg, getting him in [was fun],” Herron said on the podcast. “We recorded Chris Hemsworth for that, by the way. I haven’t told anyone that yet, by the way, but we recorded him for that, so that’s a new record...

Google is taking another shot at social apps with the beta release of Neighbourly , a new, hyperlocal-focused app designed to answer your questions, via The Next Web .
