Tesla should be able to reach 5000 per week in Berlin and ... Read more

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Runtime Is Almost Forever

Image: Marvel We now know the runtime for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever . According to the Hollywood Reporter , Disney has confirmed that the highly anticipated Marvel sequel   has a two hour and 41-minute runtime, which is long but still shorter than Avengers: Endgame , which ran just over three hours. Ryan Coogler’s newest installment into the MCU will show show the hyper-advanced African nation of Wakanda dealing with the aftermath of their king’s death and the power vacuum and political struggle that will occur. Additionally, Atlantis’ Namor (Marvel newcomer Tenoch Huerta) also has a bone to pick with Wakanda. There are plenty of epic superhero flicks, but there’s only one MCU film that’s longer than Black Panther: Wakanda Forever . Avengers: Endgame is a hefty three hours and two minutes. But Black Panther 2 won’t be the longest superhero film this year; THR noted that the Robert Pattinson-led The Batman was two hours and 56 minutes. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wil

Get Ready for Choreographed Bullet Time in The Matrix Dance Adaptation From Danny Boyle

Screenshot: Warner Bros. Plug into a rather unique take on the Wachowski siblings ’ The Matrix by way of Danny Boyle ( 28 Days Later ), who’s directing a staged dance interpretation of the 1999 sci-fi hit. Yes, you read that correctly— dance, because we’re clamoring for a choreographed, performance-art adaptation of the action movie franchise. It’s really happening, according to Variety , which reported that the show, titled Free Your Mind, is set to premiere at the Factory International (a venue so new it’s still under construction) in Manchester, England next fall. Operating as an official expansion of the franchise, Warner Brothers Theater Ventures is working with the Oscar-winning filmmaker, who’s set to direct what’s described as a “large-scale immersive performance.” Slumdog Millionaire featured a dance number, of course, but Boyle is also no stranger to eccentric stage shows; most recently, he directed the 2011 adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein starring Benedic

Disney Parks Icon Figment Starring in Movie From Seth Rogen and Detective Pikachu Scribes

Image: Disney Parks Walt Disney World ’s original dark ride Journey Into Imagination is a cult Epcot  staple—and its star, Figment the purple dragon, is now getting the big screen treatment. Deadline reports that producer Seth Rogen and Detective Pikachu writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are developing the film at Disney based on the attraction. What’s curious is that the ride itself has had three versions, so which in particular will serve as the concept remains to be seen. The original 1983 ride, created by legendary Imagineers Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, centered on a kindly Dreamfinder’s creation of Figment out of dreams and ideas he catches in the sky. Figment goes on a fantastical journey to unlock the wonders of the world through imagination and his own theme song “One Little Spark” by the Sherman Brothers. Journey Into Imagination was more recently updated to a scenario using wacky lab experiments, with Monty Python icon Eric Idle starring as a scientist who is mo

Looper at 10: Rian Johnson's Time-Travel Film Is Suitably Timeless

Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper. Image: Sony Ten years ago, when Rian Johnson’s Looper was released, it was pretty universally loved . This site loved it , fans loved it , I loved it , and that adoration hasn’t really gone away. However, while I liked the film when I saw it, it’s never one I felt the need to rewatch. And so, for its 10-year anniversary, I did just that, and discovered time has only made this time-travel movie better. Things that were once confusing are no longer so; themes that were a little unrelatable then hit home now. Characters once thought to be black and white are now beautifully gray. It’s no surprise Johnson has gone on to such incredible things in the years since Looper . He’s been crushing it for a long, long time. Before we get to all of that, though, I think the best thing about rewatching Looper for its 10th anniversary was just the simple discovery of it again. I remembered it was about time travel, and that Joseph Gordon-Levitt a
